Dell Studio 17 / 15 Touch Buttons Fix

For anyone who has a Dell Studio 17 / 15, if the touch buttons close to the screen, (Media Direct, back, stop, play/pause, forward, mute, softer, louder, and eject) ever stop working. You can try this. My problem was that one of the buttons stayed lit up, even upon restarting and reinstalling QuickSet (try that first). If you still have problems, try the following. Shut down your computer, remove the ac cord, and the battery, and then hold the power button for about 30 seconds. This drains residual power from the motherboard, which in my case, fixed it.

How to Host Warcraft III Games With My New Router - Linksys WRT54G

So, I haven't updated this site in a while, and I have seen that people actually read it :O !. So, I decided to help you guys out with Linksys Routers - very popular (but in my experience, very unreliable since it keeps d/cing me.) Before you start, make sure you know your routers ip address. (Look at previous WC3 Hosting post). Anyway, instead of the DHCP mumbo jumbo I had with my old D-link model, the Linksys setup is very simple, by the book (book being www.portforward.com). K so go to Start> Control Panel> Network Connections. Select the connection that is your PHYSICAL internet connection. For example, I have Verizon and one of my options is called "Internet Connection" but I access that through my "Local Area Connection". If you have broadband/cable/fios its almost definitely "Local Area Connection", with maybe a number after it. If you're really unsure, disable that connection. If your net no longer works, its the right one. Anyway, now that you figured out which one it is, right click it and go to Properties. Under the general tab, scroll down in the middle box and highlight Internet Protocol [TCP/IP]. Click properties. Select the radio button for "Use the following IP address". In the first of the 3 lines, make the first 3 sections the same as your router, and the last one a number with a difference. For example, my router IP is 192.168.0.1. For my IP in this box i use 192.168.0.107. Remember this number. For Subnet Mask use 255.255.255.0. For default gateway use your router's ip, in my case 192.168.0.1 . For the DNS servers, only enter 1, the ip address of your router, e.g. 192.168.0.1 for me. Press Ok, close everything. Open up your favorite browser (FIREFOX FIREFOX FIREFOX) and type in your router's ip. Enter the username and password. (For help refer to old post). On my model I then go to the tab called applications and gaming, where I named the application Warcraft, start = 6112, end = 6119, Protocol is Both, and the ip address ending should be the same as the one you remembered. Check the enable box, and Save settings. You should be all set!
