So just finished building a computer, everything worked fine, until we ran into the slowest windows 7 install possible, which resulted in crashing eventually. Honestly there was a point where it got to the "pretty" background screen with a movable cursor and we had to wait for about 15 minutes for that to even progress to the next part.
The solution?
DISABLE FLOPPY SUPPORT IN THE BIOS.
For us, this involved just setting the floppy setting to not present. An aggravating, terrifying, problem. Damn floppies.
